Need computer literate person. Possible graphics card prob. Elongated web pages.?

I no nothing about computers I like printers!

I had new computer in Feb with Vistas Home premium.

Worked great and graphics really good and it was fast.

For a while it's been slowing and forever saying it has to close x, y, or z programme as it's not responding, then yesterday it froze and a message come up that the USB was disconnected! There was nothing disconnected so I turned it off and restarted it and they it worked again.

Still being a pain so had enough and decided to wipe it and restore to factory settings - system restore was doing nothing to help.

Wiped yesterday and nothing but problems with the look of pages etc since.

Called for support and very nice man talked me through many options to get it back as it was when I first had it and in the end he said he could do more and I'd have to have a tec from Fujitsu to sort it has it could be its graphics card and it's confused about how it needs to display things.

These are some of the things that are not right with it:

The pages are elongated and there are big gaps down the side of pages that used to fill the screen.

The text is small and very thin.

The graphics are blurry on some things.

It is not showing any options on documents like file etc so I can not send any documents to anywhere else and any documents I have manged to send to computer I have had to right click properties and send each one individual as the 'invert all' or 'select all' option are not there, just organise. view and burn and that's it. There isn't even the close programme button in the left hand corner I have use the red cross to close.

Some picture I saved onto discs and UBS before I wiped it cannot open and are showing up as a paint brush with a blob of paint by them!

If I adjust the magnification this makes the words very unatural looking and uncomfortable to look at and a bit blurry.

My tool bars are about half the depth they were before I reset and even my Word 2007 looks strange and when it opens the title is half the size it used to be as well and all its fonts are showing as thinner than they were.

When Messenger appears after start up the menu is also now only half way up the page instead of full length and the icon for it on the bottom bar is pixelated were as before it was lovely and smooth and glossy looking. The desk top icons are also a bit pixelated and the big clock that it on the side bar is only half as big as it was before.

The font about an 8 and the man tried to change it but it would not budge from it's small size.

This page I am writing on is only about 5 inches wide on my screen but I have a 20 inch screen!

Is it possible it's the graphic card or could it be something else? I know it is not anything I have done as the product support man could not get it right either!

Thanks for any kind answers that take into account I'm a computer no nothing!Need computer literate person. Possible graphics card prob. Elongated web pages.?
have you tried to reset your screen to factory settings. if so then you do have a graphics prob . try a different screen to make sure your screen is not the problem. if it does the same then you need a new graphics card. if your computer is a l/top then you need a new motherboard . if its a d/top then a new card which you can buy easily and fit yourself, just remember your anti static strap before you take the side off the computer and before you take the card from its esd bag.Need computer literate person. click and hold down on the page edge and drag it back to full size
When you did a fresh install did you install the latest and correct drivers for your graphic card. If not it wont work.

If you have the correct drivers installed and its still playing up remove the graphics card and use the on-board graphics. If this corrects the issue then your card is knackered and you need a new one.

Most graphic issues are caused by having incorrect or out dated drivers. what make/model is your card? Google it and download the drivers from the manufactures website. Im pretty sure you have a driver issue.

A driver is a piece of software which tells a piece of hardware what to do and how to do it. It allows higher-level computer programs to interact with a hardware device. Having the correct divers installed is vital or your P.C will play up big time.
